About Me

I am addicted to YA literature! I am a Youth Services Librarian/Assistant Director of one amazing public library. It's my goal to eventually write my own YA book, but until then I have so many good books to read.

My blog is called Nori's Closet because when I was in library school, in Pittsburgh, my studio apartment had some magical closets. None of them led to Narnia. But, really, I'm used to Chicago and NY where closet space is rather limited. I had so many closets in Pittsburgh, all of which were shelved very nicely. So, I decided I didn't need to buy any bookshelves. And when my librarian friends came over, they always went into my closet to see what new books were there!

Also, in a fictional TV show my friends and I created during school, my segment was called "Nori's Closet."

I love when people ask me why I enjoy reading Young Adult literature so much. I say, first, it's just the best. And second, YA books are the books that get everyone reading. Everyone has that one book that started their love for reading. And 9 times out of 10 it's a YA book.  What was my one book? Because it's me, I have two: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle and Ella Encanted by Gail Carson Levine. After those books, I have not been able to stop reading. Feel free to leave a comment at any time telling me what your one (or two) books that started it all were.
