Harry Potter Month: Books for Harry Potter Fans

So, Micheline inspired me to go back and look at my list that I made for my library a few years ago. I tweaked it a bit and decided to make it just for Middle Grade. Then, I made a whole new list for people who read YA.

Do you think I’m missing anything? Also, is anyone else going to a midnight party tomorrow?

  1. This is awesome^^ On the teen side, YES to Raven Boys, Throne of Glass and Steelheart! I still need to read Eon, Etiquette & Espionage, Ink and Bone, Carry On, Fire and Thorns, Graceling and Eragon but they're ALL on my tbr shelf and I own most of them :D On the MG side, YES to Golden Compass, Percy Jackson and (Septimus Heap - I read the entire series...I liked them but didn't love them). I still need to read Lemony Snicket, The Graveyard Book and Miss Perigrine. I actually DNFed Nicholas Flamel unfortunately :( These are excellent^^ Oh and I WISH there was a midnight party somewhere close for me to go to!!

  2. Well this is amazing! Off your teen list I've so far read Throne of Glass, The Raven Boys, Steelheart, Carry On, Touch of Power, Graceling & Eragon, but Eon, Shadow & Bone, The Girl of Fire & Thorns and Truthwitch are all on my TBR list.

Off your middle grade list I've read Percy Jackson (definitely a great rec for Harry Potter fans), The Golden Compass, A Series of Unfortunate Events & Inkheart but I really want to read Miss Peregrine's Home for peculiar children!

I actually will also be attending a midnight party! I hope you have an awesome time at yours!

  3. The lists are great! I loved Throne of Glass and The Raven Boys :D I didn't really enjoy the way Shadow & Bone was wrapped up though (I'm mostly alone on that LOL). My son has read quite a few from your middle grade list. We both love Percy and he's reading The Golden Compass Now. He enjoyed A Series of Unfortunate Events a lot as well :D

  4. These lists are great! I've only read a handful on both of them, but that just gives me more to look up and read! The Percy Jackson books are amazing, they are definitely great books for people who like Harry Potter. And I really liked A Great and Terrible Beauty too!

  5. The Raven Boys is one of my all-time favorite books; the friendship in that one reminds me a lot of our trio. I also loved Throne of Glass and Etiquette and Espionage and would definitely recommend them to HP fans! :D
